  • Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC)
Department offers comprehensive health care services to the people in Dharavi Slums through its Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), established in 1981, which is attached to the LTMMC & GH and is situated at ‘60 feet road, Dharavi’, one of the biggest slums in Asia.
 
  • Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC):
Services provided by The Dept. of Community Medicine , LTMMC & GH, have gone beyond the four walls of the hospitals to extend its services to rural and tribal population through its Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), at Vaitarna, Taluka. Shahapur, Dist. Thane. Rural Health Training Centre, Vaitarna was started on 19th January 2009 in collaboration with Hydraulic Engineers division, MCGM, Vaitarna, with the aim of providing routine and emergency 24 X 7 healthcare services to Hydraulic Engineers division MCGM employees and their family members and also to the villagers nearby. RHTC was established according to the guidelines of Medical council of India (MCI) as one of the mandatory requirement of Medical College. Number of beneficiaries were 3566 MCGM employees and 672 at Day Care Centre.
The Department of Community Medicine has adopted three Primary Health Centres of Thane district viz Tembha, Kasara and Vashind, from Director of Health Services, Government of Maharashtra for training, teaching and research activities for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Para-medical students of LTMMC & GH. 
Out of three Primary Health Centres, Vashind PHC has been upgraded as Rural Health Training Centre since May 2016.
Specialized Referral services from LTMMC & GH are provided in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Orthopaedics and Dermatology at RHTC on a regular basis. 
Interns and Postgraduate students of Community Medicine are posted on a regular basis at the RHTC. 
Multi-specialty Health camps are conducted at RHTC based on the need of the Community.

  • Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP)

Under the IDSP, the dept. has been managing an Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (Satellite Disease Surveillance Unit) in collaboration with public health dept. of MCGM for surveillance of monsoon related diseases.
Outreach Multispecialty Health camps are conducted under the Mumbai Aarogya Abhiyan since 2009 in the Community. 

  • Training:
  • Training of various categories of staff members of LTMGH on issues related to HIV/AIDS is undertaken.
  • Health Education is an integral part of all the programmes undertaken by the department. The department imparts comprehensive school health services in the Municipal and private schools.

·         Workload at UHTC in The Year 2015-

o   General OPD for adult male and female patient (total no. of patients examined 18,848)

o   Paediatric OPD for children between 5 to 12 yrs, (total no. of patients examined 4430)

o   Immunization for under five children (8150)

·         Special services are as follows:

o   Growth & Development clinic (no. of beneficiaries 1243)

o   STI Clinic (screening of 1847)

o   Screening for Oral cancer (896), Breast cancer (1001), Non Communicable Diseases (1325) & Malaria (1893) are carried out at UHTC
